I know yasy can teach me...

So... I got Friday off and spent half of it shopping for office clothes (I got myself a sweater that makes me look like a naughty librarian, for real) and the other half filing paperwork after some old dude lost control and hit my dad's car, thus screwing up any fishing trip prospects for the day. Our car wasn't that badly damaged, his is another ( Read more... )

First of all, I've missed you! Your post brought the biggest smile to my face, you know that? And OMG, how cute is that baby??! Those big, blue eyes are something else. Between that and the cat story, I think you are trying to kill us with the cuteness today.

I would recommend ROME for you, if you haven't already watched it. Can be wildly inaccurate and somewhat over the top, but also thoroughly enjoyable with some real stand-out performances.

I (gently) bit into one of those huge cheeks the other day, I just couldn't hold it in any longer. She's adorable and she knows it, the spoiled brat.

I do love me some skirts and sandals and HBO is pretty popular here so I should be able to find Rome, especially since it's already out on DVD.

I was glad to see your name in someone else's LJ. I tend to sacrifice LJ for when I have time but I keep on trying. :)

Oh, considering you once called me your second meyerlemon, I wish I could offer something substantial. But with how crazy this summer and the start to the school year's been, I haven't been watching much TV either. I don't even know for sure which new shows I'm going to try. Not many of them look very good.

I'm almost finished with the second episode of Fringe. I have to say, I do like it. Maybe I've turned into a complete nerd and teaching science has consumed me in a weird way, but I really like the science to it all. But watching the LOST finale with you, I'm not sure that it won't disappoint you, now or at some point down the road. Although, it does seem to have a little less mythological blunder and aslightly more procedural feel than LOST. This is really a ringing endorsement, huh? ;)

Other than that, there a bunch of old premium cable shows I want to catch up on - Sopranos and Deadwood are two big ones - and some current cable shows I watch to watch - Damages and Mad Men. I know meyerlemon loves Mad Men. Maybe that would be ( ... )

Yay, my influencer. I'm definitely doing Mad Men and Damages now that Mrs. B has offered to send it to me.

I'm not AT ALL opposed to sci fi, I'm a fangirl in fact. Lost is CRAP pseudo-hodgepodge-sci-fi though so that's different. I was and am a huge nerdy XPhile at heart so of course I'm down with that, I just didn't find what little I saw of Fringe very interesting so I'm not going to clutter up the hardrive with it. It'll probably come out on tv here soon and I'll give it another chance then.

We'll just pretend she has her auntie's eyes. I finally bit into one of those cheeks. She cried of course, but she'll forgive me, she gets plenty of toys and frilly dresses so she knows what's good for her. :D

cutenesss overload with the cherub cheeks & saucer size blue eyes!

I've been absent on LJ and online in general til recently so I wanted to stop in and say hello.

Personally I liked Fringe, although there is no denying it's basically the X-files with a Lost twist. I can't say I'm a huge fan of Joshua Jackson either, & he's essentially reprising his role as Pacey... But I do like the chemistry he has w/the lead female. And Fringe has enough of its own unique flavor to set it apart. Particularly the character of Walter (if you watch)-ep 2, seat warmer-that's all I'm sayin :) Plus I'm a sucker for all the pseudo science. I'm not sold on the show 100% yet but I'm giving it a chance...And yeah JJ-pick 1 project and stick it lol.

I only wish I had cable to watch Discovery channel et al..for now I'm excited I have digital & 3 versions of PBS. :)

I hope all is well w/you!
*hugs*

Hey!

I didn't use to watch Dawson's Creek so I really have no sort of prejudice towards Joshua Jackson one way or the other. I'll probably try it when it's on TV here, I didn't like the previews enough to make me rush to the torrents for it. Plus... it's JJ. It's going to turn to shit eventually. By season two most likely.

Discovery Channel is where it's at. Once you've had a taste of Mike Rowe in Dirty Jobs, non-hairy, non-dirty men who don't work with their hands and don't sing opera won't stand a chance with you anymore.

Gotta say I am LOVING Fringe...its surprisingly funny too (especially Walter). But you have to be into the whole psuedoscience thing or else it really won't appeal to you. And you don't have to like Josh Jackson much to appreciate his character. Hell the story itself is good enough that you don't need to really like most of the characters (except Walter...because really how can you not..you'll see what I mean if you give it a chance)

Other than that...I don't remember if you watch Bones...but I think everyone should, lol.

I tried Bones but it didn't work. I think I like the more gore-ish, slightly on the more serious side crime shows.

I didn't use to watch Dawson's Creek so I really have no sort of prejudice towards Joshua Jackson one way or the other. I'll probably try it when it's on TV here.
