i can't do office politics. i just don't understand it. whenever i interact with people, i have to be 100% honest. if i try to hide anything, it's completely obvious. and the worst thing is, i can't understand why other people are not the same way. i spend so much time second guessing people : why are they acting this way? why did they say

They're probably thinking the same thing about you. To combat them, occasionally you have to do something completely unpredictable to confuse them. It also breaks their mental stereotypes of you.

Or that's how I combat it. Besides bitching to wife and friends.
