Okay, I liked this. I like the effort, the thought you've put into constructing the internal monologue of Rogue, of the montage and confusion it must contain. Very nicely done, thank you!
I dig experimental. This was really neat, thanks for sharing! The structure was neat, that rhythm was great. I really like seeing people explore new structures and voices.
You ate lots of things that lost their voice first.
Aw, thanks! After I saw the rec I reread it, and I think it works. Sometimes I'm overcritical in the long run, but I have a soft spot for it, because the memories were all deliberate. I could pick all the narratives apart and tell you what belonged to who. And I think most of them are pretty easy to figure out, but jumbled together, they work really well.
Thanks for reading, and I am so glad that you liked it!
To my everlasting shame, I have not read this before, I just found it via a rec on crack_van, and I am truly sorry for that because this is astonishing.
The structure perfectly evokes the fractured mentality and memories that I think you were going for, with the essence of Marie swamped by the disjointed thoughts and feelings of those she's touched. And you're right, it's not something that's handled enough and that's a shame because it would have made movieverse Rogue's decision to take the cure far more sympathetic IMHO.
Ha! I didn't think about Rogue's decision to take the cure. But yeah, you're right, this could be a serious incentive. Plus, the whole "being able to get laid" thing, which I am not discounting. XD
I'm glad that you liked it, girl, and thanks for reading! Woot!
