back in the early 2000s when I was popular on the internets (lmao), my domain (aerith.nu) got a lot of hits for a reason i can't even explain myself.. and people would steal MY WHOLE LAYOUT with aerith.nu's name even on the layout graphics, the html, everything. And upload it to thier webspace, change my text a bit and act like it was thiers. It was hilarious but sad.
i just assume that if anyone ever decides to rip of my work, they'll likely get limited recognition from it. whether or not they get caught, they'll still end up exposed as a talentless hack if they ever decide to gain fandom from their work by being a art-stealing bastard in lieu of producing original work.
You don't know how much that face scared the shiznits out of me. I can't look at it for too long either. But watermarks almost seem like an artistic thing itself. Because seriously, would a rip care if what you made was really yours? I know some people would try to claim it as theirs but when everyone loves you (yes I'm good at the flattery), you don't really need to bother to prove it. Especially with morally bankrupt myspace pages nowadays.
the face is only scary because his eyes aren't in! ;3; also because in pictures he seems so big when in actuaity his head is only the size of an orange. :x
i don't really think of myspace as a creative place.. its more like a pool of people trying to get attention now lol.
i'm just not as well known as I used to be, so I worry that I won't be able to stop anyone from using my stuff. I probably won't go overboard with the watermarks but i think i might have to use them for some things :/
For photography, I think watermarks might be necessary. They don't usually bother me unless they're huge and impede proper viewing of the photo. The one you have is nice, though :D. Very pretty, and can definitely tell it's yours~.
watermarks that take up more than 40% of the photo annoy me ;D;
i don't think i'll be using it on all my photography though. but when toki is done I really don't want people trying to claim he's thiers or anything since he is one of a kind!
