Ridiculous Music, Awesome Vids: A Recs List

As you all know, I have a hell of a weakness for cheesy pop music. Like, I just spent a couple hours doing Serious Academic Writing to Rihanna. Anyway, this also manifests in a desire for vids that use these songs, preferably to highlight the ridiculousness of the superserious canons I love

Heh, Glee is kind of...the perfect guilty pleasure show? I don't watch, but Leigh does, so I catch an ep every now and then.

There *has* to be a vid to that, yup. Wait, I think I may have read the terrible songfic whose existence you're positing? But I think I backbuttoned out at a million miles an hour--I think it was the type of songfic where the character starts listening to the song and thinks about how it applies to him. Lol, no.

I love that Tik Tok/TOS vid! It is the best. This one doesn't compare, but Moriarty showing up for "the party don't start til I walk in" is pretty close.

That vid set to Toxic is actually well edited - I never would have thought. And so fun, of course, because when is “Toxic” ever not fun? I also giggled through Last Friday Night.

I have tons of Sherlock vids I would rec, but specifically on the theme of Sherlock vids set to pop music, there’s (sorry, I’m in a bit of a rush, so no html):

(It’s not really mocking Sherlock, I’m pretty sure it’s serious. But it’s kind of ridiculously shippy, to an extent where the first time I watched it I hadn’t read enough fanfic yet and I was like, “LOL, yeah right” and then I came back a couple months later and went, “OH. SHIPPING. YUM.”)

ETA: okay, no, the vid I was actually thinking of was So Contagious, I just got it confused with Animal because it's the same vidder. Still quite pop-ish, but not really the kind of uberpop you're talking about, I don't think
