Les Miserables!

I find western views on Chinese political history to be extremely harsh; alas it's rather difficult to understand Eastern culture from a western perspective, let alone analyse eastern politics (especially with China). I wish people would just stop condemning the CCP non-stop and actually think of the circumstances they were/are in.

Thanks! I've never actually read Les Miserables but have seen the musical 4 times.

I found it difficult to find a chinese history book that wasn't western when I studied modern china in first semester last year. A chinese friend has actually given me this book to read and I'm excited to read something that isn't going to be as contrived as the books in the QUT library.

I already watch too much T.V (ooohhhh....entertainment tonight is on!). I am a self-confessed sissie and I like reading (the T.V guide).
