I'm a big fan of both dessert places as well. I remember many years back Hui Lau Shan opened up in Singapore (where tcc is now opposite Liat Towers) but it didn't last long for some reason.
I always wonder where they get the steady supply of mangoes from. Have to say though that I am a bit biased though and still think Australian mangoes (especially the Kensington) taste the best. The mango and sago dessert is quite easy to make I believe so maybe you can experiment with it at home. :)
