Don't Panic :) There's no need to worry here - when taking your hormonal birth control properly, you're protected during and after your placebo week, as well as during the active pills. Basically, your hormone levels don't drop enough during the week to allow you to ovulate. If you're worried about it a lot, there's a lot of apps you can get for your phone that will give you an alarm when you need to take your pill and let you log that you've taken it. You could also try standardising the time you take it for something you do at the same time every day (lunch, brushing teeth in morning or evening, or whatever). That said, an IUD is a good option too :) I've had one since my early 20s, and it works brilliantly - remembering to change it every 10 years is the biggest problem!
Thanks! I appreciate your response. I am probably overreacting, as this is my first time soley relying on the pill. I take it every day at roughly the same time and have yet to completely miss a pill. Latest was maybe 5-6 hours, but that was in my first pack. That being said, I already made an appointment with my Dr. to discuss IUD instead getting another year long prescription of the pill. Just seems like a less worrisome investment. I just don't want to be that .03% that manages to get pregnant on the pill because I worry about things like placebo vs active pills.
