Lol! Very cool - We have an air hockey table somewhere in our garage, holding up lots of other boxes and crap... might be some exercise equipment hidden somewhere in there too...
I agree. Working in fitness and now virtually, there are better resources out there than buying a machine. Then again, whatever motivates and keeps ya going, so....
I would totally agree most of these are a complete waste of money and space for most people. I've recently seen an advertisement for a bicycle powered by walking... I'm totally interested in that in theory because it allows you to get lower impact exercise than running or biking, while also getting places faster than walking. I like the idea of something allowing you to get exercise, while also being a useful tool itself - such as a bike, except, I've never been into biking. The walking bike allows you to not have to worry about changing your clothes or getting too sweaty. If I was ever going to buy an exercise apparatus, it would probably be that one. Can't see that happening any time soon, though. :-/
because I like the idea of an exerciser that can actually usefully accomplish a dual purpose of taking you somewhere, or allowing you to see sites other than a screen (or wall or window) in front of you, but, before I'd ever even consider spending anywhere near that kind of expense, I'd have to prove to myself I have the capacity to stick to any exercise program. Too many promise the notion of "Hey, that looks fun!" Yeah, but, don't forget, I have to tell myself, this is YOU you're talking about... is it fun enough to make you actually DO it??? There's probably a very good reason all the people they show who have one of these are already in great shape! ;-)
I'm sure some people do use them. I can imagine if you found it difficult to get outside for exercise, even before the pandemic, that it would be useful. But that's just not reality for most folks!
Hope that the humor comes across. I certainly don't want to denigrate anyone who really does feel this is for them. It's just pointing fun at the way these machines usually oversell the benefits. I thought, "What if they were super realistic instead?"
