As anyone who knows me can attest, I'm a huge fan of British comedy. In fact, my undergraduate honors thesis compared two comedy schools, America's Second City Players and the British Oxbridge Mafia, which gave birth to Monty Python.

Sounds like fun. We're big time Monty Python fans. In fact last night we were watching the Spanish Inquisition episode on dvd. 8^)

But I digress.

I knew who the Goons were, just not much about them. Many years ago when the "Doctor Demento" radio show was still broadcast here in Philadelphia, he would play the "Ying Tong" song.

Not a lot of Americans have heard the Goons, because their shows, to my knowledge, were never aired over here. There are lots of recordings available, however, as well as a couple videos on YouTube, including one from their final performance in 1972.
