Into the Deep End

This was my first year as a department head at Otakon, so The Gryphon and I arrived early. That way I could be prepared to handle anything that came up. We arrived Wednesday evening, after I'd spent a day of organizing things at home.

My first day as a department head, Thursday at Otakon. )

*hug* I was glad to see you Thurs-night. Regan and I only made it to the meeting in time for the photo, as you saw. -_-;;; Took FOREVER to get our staff pics.

We did...well, I think, in the LARP this year. (Namely...I kept my voice. I've been MUTE 3 years in a row, by Saturday-night.) I did my best to try and keep Joe/Jon sane, and not sure I succeeded, but they did seem sane...if silly, by the end.

Moral:
If you're the boss, be the boss; let your staff do the work.

Something that's hard to learn. I suspect I'll have to learn it quickly, too. *sweatdrops*

My other piece of advice on being the boss: plan things out ahead of time! It gets too crazy when you're in the fray. It's better to have a plan.

I can barely speak right now, myself!

I actually CAN speak. I also ATE and SLEPT! I also attended a PANEL! (Did you KNOW there was a CONVENTION going on? *incredulous* ^_~)

But yes, bunch of people going back to school soon at work. And I am (thankfully) NOT a boss, as in--not a manager or a shift-lead. HOWEVER, I may end up being their back-line coordinator at times, and I'll be a more experienced employee than some...so I'm sure I'll have to learn boss-type skills quickly.

I did eat and sleep (well, every night except Thursday), and I saw most of the MELL concert.

As far as being a boss is concerned, watch and learn, grasshopper!

That's hilarious! I'm glad to hear that you guys were having a little fun while I was out. I was usually all business when I was there!

He got me by accident at Dead Dog when he was trying to get our Radio Guru. Those suckers hurt!
