That really struck me, even more than the pseudo-vampirism.

I agree completely about Castiel showing emotion. Up to now he's just wandered around being righteous and mysterious, but this episode really broke him open into something real.

I hadn't called the Dean-as-Seal thing, but it does make so much sense. I'm kind of eh about the Dean-as-a-woobie thing, though. Hell did break some integral part of him, but I expected a lot more anger and a lot less helplessness. (I don't like emotional scenes as a whole, though; I squee during arguments and fast-forward through crying jags.)

Oh, I TOTALLY think Dean should gtf over it already. I agree with Sam, he needs to GET ANGRY already, angry at Lilith, angry at Alastair for breaking him, something other than all this self-pity. But I do understand him.
