Louis sits in the main room of the mansion before the fireplace, a book in hand. It's not the presence of another vampire that draws his attention, as he is, of course, unable to discern when his maker is near. The soft crush of carpet underfoot, however, does cause him to look up, surprised momentarily that something exists outside of his novel - then doubly surprised when he sees who it is.
