[And Teru has been in the bathroom. Taking a shower, that's all. Except that the water was too hot, and when he washed his hair he pulled so hard that some of it came out, knotted round his fingers. He threw it away. None of that shows, now, as he comes out, clean and dressed, with his hair still slightly damp, and sits down beside her.]

[She smiles at him, squeezing his hand.]
Have a good shower?

I did.

[Every time she smiles at him he thinks of his face, at the end. It's a terrible comparison. He shouldn't be making it.]
