"So many other things happened in the book and they waste time giving them so many scenes!"
I mean, sex scenes must be cheaper to make than chopping heads off, when it comes to filling the screentime... Then again, you never know with the American TV.

I laughed when Geralt became Geralt of Rivia.
Wait, was this the choosing a name story, or the Queen Meve scene? I think the latter was in "Lady of the Lake", so probably the first one?

The conversation about vampires was funny.
Oooh, right, it's the Regis book already! Him telling his story and the blood being vamps' "booze" instead of "food" was one of better pieces of the whole saga, heh.

Milva is not the Marilka from the Butcher of Blaviken story, is she?
I... don't think so? Then again, there might be a connection I wasn't aware of. Not like I really remember that now, anwyay.

a group of men talks a woman out of it right nowIf anything, it always read to me like an opposite of that... This scene and the saga as a whole had always that very explicit thread of the woman having a ( ... )

Yes, however Geralt fighting monsters seems to be a very important thing in the show. They added so many monsters in season 2 I'm wondering if they replace some of his fights with people, with monsters. I, personally, prefer when he fights people, he really looks like an unstoppable death machine, while with monsters, he has to defend himself as well as attack.

The Queen Meve scene. The whole "let's lead a random army to battle" plot was already ridiculous, but I like how some things just happen and it's not very serious.

I almost felt like Sapkowski couldn't stop himself after the first joke and continued, continued, continued... :D

@Meve scene. So it was here? Shows how reliable I am when it comes to these books canon. :') Might have some to do with the fact that my first reading order was 2-1-5-4-3-6-7, or something like this... (Doesn't help that in my time it was (1-2)+(1-5), not 1-7.)

I mean, not like this is an outlier for him, more like a regular method... XD

Or they could change it for the show.
Unless there's some reason making it a plot error, that'd be an example of an adaptation change being an improvement instead of damage, I think.

In the show, I'd say the main message is that you decide who you want to be and even if some people had control over you at some point and pushed you into one direction, you always are strong enough to be that person on your own terms.
That's good, finally something in accord with the original source. Of course, as usual, the execution matters a lot, too.

I certainly wouldn't pass the timeline test. I'm reading, still picturing Ciri as a 13 year old, and suddenly someone says it's been three years since the fall of Cintra! Some stories of the characters are pretty unrrelated , too. I can only say whick book I'm currently reading when the title is, very subtly, :D repeated every now and then.

Wow... I wouldn't have a clue what's going on with the politics :D I'm wondering, how does Blood of Elves work for someone who didn't read the short stories and thought this is the first book.

I mean, not like this is an outlier for him, more like a regular method... XDThe moment with some old man in some village near the end of the book, asking which story he should continue, Geralt's, Ciri's or Yennefer's, because there's only time for one and he'll be back in ( ... )
