I just read a comment with the perspective about how as a Black man doing that to another Black man and on That stage? You cant do that! Blacks are constantly struggling against the view that they are violent

I also just read one that says a husband is the one who sees the tears that a woman cries behind closed doors and comforts her deepest hurts. When he sees them behind her mask and reacts, that is love.

Stepping between is stepping up? I guess? I dunno. I suppose part of it is in just how hurt she was by the joke? Did she need someone to defend her?

I seriously did not like Will's freakin STRUT before & after. That there is Toxic Man.

This is definitely social conditioning on my part, but I consider the punch less bad form for being a punch, and more that he 'caused a scene' and lost his temper. Quietly having a word afterwards and then, if apologies are not given, challenging to a fight in private without cameras seems acceptable.

If anyone else had slapped a comic presenter on stage during a broadcast - would it have been allowed to slide? No one escourted him out. No one even took him backstage to cool off.
Every winner after this incident was overshadowed. Every win erased from the press. Even his. All the historic accomplishments and accolades of the show are shoved under this dark deed.
Yet he is the one being comforted?
