Cuts?

This is a little appeal- does anyone know how to do cuts and is willing to explain it to me? I have actually written a fic that I wanna put up here and everybody else uses cuts... I imagine that it is very simple and I'm a moron for not figuring it out on my own, but whatever... Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

I used to have a lot of difficulty with LJ cuts. And then a friend of mine had the same problem not long after I finally memorized it, so I wrote it out for her. Thankfully, I saved it because it's come in handy since. Hopefully it will be helpful to you as well. :)

LJ Cut html tags:
< lj-cut text = "this is where the title of the LJ Cut goes" >

< / lj-cut >

Okay, above is an LJ Cut tag. In the quotation marks in the first line of the tag is where you put the title. The text of your story goes between the two lines of html tags. The space between 'lj-cut' and 'text' in the first line of the tag does NOT get removed, but take out all of the other spaces in the two lines of code, or the cut won't work.

I think I got it... Well, in html anyway. There appears to be a "livejournal cut" button in rich text format or whatever its called, but i'Il try to figure that out at a later date...

I believe there is a button for cuts in rich text format, but I don't know how it works. I stopped using rtf on LJ a long time ago because it kept messing up the format in my entries. (Go figure.)
