I think it's time we dethroned the whistle pig from his phony position as weather predictor. It's been snowing all afternoon, the roads were drifted badly coming home, and now the temperature is dropping to single digits again

Not now, but yes, it snowed overnight.

I must admit that every time I hear about Punxsutawney Phil I'm tempted to grab a varmint gun and go hunting for the little twirp.

Phil's bad enough but here we have the local marmot, Woodstock Willie. His accuracy is even worse than that of the Punxsatawny Prophet.

It's 15F and dropping here. Windows frosted, hard to see out but it looks as if we got at least another 1/2 in. of snow overnight.
