More snow. Cold, too. Back to the woodstove. Fortunately, I did get it going well last night and did the right things (I'm out of practice) so that it still had coals this morning when I got up. The fire picked right up when supplied with more wood. A good thing, as it was about 10°F outside at that point

I'm starting to think my native corner of the world is in a time warp, with severe weather a year ahead of everyone else. I've noticed it several times that Seattle gets freakishly extreme winter one year before everyone else ... last year, for instance, we were buried under 4 feet of snow and blizzard force winds, and it took more than 2 months for the last of the snow to melt where I was living ... usually Seattle gets maybe 3 hits of 2" snow per winter that only lasts 2-3 days before completely melting.

This year, the rest of the U.S. seems to be getting slammed, all the way to Texas and Florida, as well as my European friends ... but this year, Seattle is back to its normal mild winter, we've had very minor snowfall.

We had much more snow than this in the winter of 2007-2008, actually. The all time record was broken here with something like 65 inches of snow that winter.
