Enough already with the clouds

Gray and drippy all day again. Further complicated by my own screw up. A month ago I read an announcement about a seminar I thought I should attend. It was to take place today. My boss agreed to pay for it, I signed up, and received a confirmation. Sponsored through the state library, to be given at North Suburban Library System. Note the word " ( Read more... )

I would demand a refund anyway being that there was no prior notice of you leaving for the damn thing.. Especially since it was changed without notice.

On other notes Im happy to hear tess is still doing good concidering her broken hoof :)
Hugs to you for surviving a stressfull pointless day. Weve all had our fair share.

Well, the notification and poorly designed publicity are the responsibility of a different organization from the one actually sponsoring the seminar. Ultimately I should know better than trust that group, they've done nothing but bungle. Misreading the location was entirely my fault. It was understated, but accurate all along.

*hugs back* I'll take all the hugs I can get.

I'm trying to justify spending $30 on a deck of cards to myself (because it's gorgeous and damn it I want it, and have since I first saw it) - I tried to not-so-subtly hint "buy me these for Birthdaymas" to my mother and her response was "you can draw better". Which is complete bull. Sigh, parents.

Fortunately they've shared all the images on the website now. It would have been nice to have that information included in a little booklet, but I suppose that would have increased costs considerably.

I would not mind ordering a pack of those cards now. :)

Looks like they are still available through the website. The individual artists had some to sell as well. Mine were preordered from Foxfeather quite a while back. I received #295 of 1000 so I imagine there are a few yet to be sold.

I got the number 756, so it looks like they're selling pretty well.

RED PANDA WILD DOG HERM APPROVES

(The red panda artist has done other red pandas too. I like them.)

Sorry to hear about the screwup. Especially annoying that it knocked out the rest of your day. :(

The wild dog is one of my faves in the pack, along with the Przewalski horse (natch) and the fox joker. Fox? Foxes aren't endangered. But when you look at the picture, you see that the fox is carrying a dead numbat. Numbats are criticially endangered and introduced foxes in Australia are one of the threats. She's a beautiful fox, though. Count on Blotch to get it right.

And hey, a manatee by Ursula Vernon - I THOUGHT the style on that face looked familiar! Pretty mermaid.

Manatees are really cool critters. I've seen them on several occasions in Florida. They are smarter than they look, too. Gary and I saw a demonstration at a state park in which a ranger went into the water with them and they played with her and begged for treats, rather like huge, slow-moving dogs.

My card deck arrived just the other day, my tiger bought me one for my birthday. ^^

It's a beautiful set, just been wondering how I could snatch the website along as well. Nothing's permanent in the internets anyways... a nice PDF with the extra information and sketches would be handy.

Yay for thoughtful tigers. :)

I've been thinking the same thing about the web site, though I'd rather have it as HTML than PDF, so you can search and click.
