Standard MFF post

  • Yes, I'll be there. Arriving Friday AM, leaving Sunday PM.
  • Steed (goldenstallion) and I are sharing a room in the main hotel.
  • I am bringing my Argos fursuit (see user icon.)
  • I will be attending some panels, but am not leading any.
  • Yes I am huggable, but Argos prefers not to be grabbed from behind without warning (as do I, for that matter.)

fursuiting, mff

Quite a few folk I know seem to be headed that way. It seems to be the Con to be at this month. I trust you'll all enjoy it. :)

In November, I think MFF is the only con in the US at least. It has the advantage for fursuits that the weather is almost always cold, around freezing, but still fairly dry.

I wish you could be here, I'm sure it would add to the fun. :)

On the other hand, I'm not at all sure what to expect. The specter of the collapsing economy is putting a serious damper on festivities this year I think. Certainly I'm having second thoughts about what I've spent, but it's all spent already so might as well go. Might be a lean year for the artists and dealers though.

I hope it goes well. I'm trying to help run the UK filk con next February, and it's feeling the economic drag in terms of folks not joining, too. The one ray of hope for us is that the dollar's up against the pound, so we may pick up some US-based members now that they're not having to pay two bucks for every pound. Of course, for the UK folks going over to MFF it'll cut the other way...

I wish you could join us. I'm not at all sure what the economic issues are going to do to this year's con, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out slim for the artists and dealers and even for the charity. The new hotel is more expensive, as are most of the restaurants in the area, which isn't going to help either.

I'd love to come to more cons, but I have a 3k credit card billl to clear first. Should not be a real problem for me. Just time consuming and irritating. That's what happens if you break your own golden rule (in my case "borrow only what you intend to pay back within two months.) Oops. Enjoy it there. Everyone needs a break from time to time.

Have fun!

Going at all amounts to going off on a tangent, and especially in the current economy. Ouch.

Enjoy the trip :)

I only wish I was there, too. Would love to see new people. Oh, well. At least I have booze. I finally got paid my housing support for the last 3 months... Wait, yes, 3. Been living on a tight budget until now.

HAve a great time out there!

Well, a moderately good time anyway. Things are really expensive this year.
