You weren't kidding about the sad part! That was beautifully written, though, and so very believable. I'm surprised stuff like that doesn't happen much, much more often given their circumstances.
Very sadly underutilized. I'm not happy about the return of the cancer, but one good thing about it is it's likely to mean more Cottle. (And more Roslin/Cottle interaction, so yay!)
A question: Did you ever write TWW fic? (I'm gonna guess yes from your icon *hee*). If you're that same Emma Ockham, you wrote some of my fave TWW stuff.
Yes - I may very well be that same Emma. I started my fan fic career writing 'The West Wing multiples', featuring Abbey, CJ, Jed, Leo and Lord Marbury.
*grinning happily because someone even remembers that* It was fun to write.
Up until the last day, there was also a version in which Jack survives, and in which Bill, slightly miffed and jealous, walks in on Jack and Laura cuddling.
"It seems our friend is pissed over something," Jack mutters softly in Laura's ear. She turns her head and catches Bill's raised brow transferring volumes of disenchanted undertone at them. "He seems displeased," Jack’s voice acquired a his old humorous spark for the first time this evening.
When she feels Jack's hand retake the soft rubbing of her back, Laura realizes that underneath the layer of worry and, maybe, huff about the breach of military protocol, there is an undeniable sourness in Adama's eyes; and indignant sourness at that. "Yes," Jack confirmed with a slight smirk, "I'd say jealous too."
"He ran out of cigarettes," she tried.
Adama looked at her impassively, letting her stumble about. His arched brow communicated his displeased disbelief quite eloquently.
"You can do better than that." Adama said. But eventually I thought

Ooh! Thank you for that huge compliment. I was rather much afraid people would hate the tale because it was this dark and hopeless. I'm very happy you enjoyed it.
I stumbled upon you again by accident. Love it, again. I'm still working on your No Phoenix. I wish I had your nerve, I can't bring myself to write character deaths, but you do such a fantastic job! I friended you, hope you don't mind.
yes, it felt like an accident, when you asked about 'No Phoenix for Roslin' when I was finishing up 'Airlock', especially because Airlock is the first piece I've written since No Phoenix. ;)
Your kind comments about NP in part made me go through with publishing Airlock.
I friended you right back. Thank you for your lovely comment.

I hope they'll give Jack a larger part in season 4. He's sadly underutilized.
