Yeah, that was just a small shock when I heard that.

Of course, many of the wrong questions were used in that Q&A which meant that he didn't get destroyed as he should have on these issues, especially with the blatent lying, but oh well.

Plus, when he mentioned the whole "Russian Mafia" thing with the Qld dentist, why didn't someone then crop up with Lj, facebook, wikipedia, etc "If you block the host rather than the page, doesn't that mean that all social sites will be blocked on a daily basis?"

I was surprised about this, and a few other things:
- No one raised the fact that 4chan was on the leaked list. Even though they do post dubious material there, I don't think they fall into the illegal category
- The quality of the questions were terrible so he got off the hook there. He should have been flamed over the fact it doesn't prevent the dissemination of this material and his failure to grasp Moore's Law (amongst other things)
- That no one in the audience or the panel called him for repeated BS.

Despite my disappointment, he's definitely on thin ice.

If only I'd known about it in advance, rather than wandering downstairs and finding it in progress, I'd have tried to get a question or two in.
