This year's ficathon is underway at bujold_fic. This is my entry, based on The Curse of Chalion. Written for philomytha, who asked for Cazaril at Gotorget.

All the carrying stuff is taken straight from the book, I think it's one of the central themes. Caz compares himself to a mule all the time. And then there's Orico's menagerie, carrying some of the curse, and of course poor Caz dragging Dondo around for most of the book.

His soul was parched is lifted straight from the book too. I had the thing written, and then was flipping back through the book to see if I'd missed any details - and read that line. Couldn't believe it fitted in so well with everything I'd already written. So in it went!

Ooh, now I hadn't thought about mpreg at all, what a fascinating insight! I think there's a lot of ambivalence towards pregnancy in her books.

Was that a more please?! I wish there was! I'd love another Caz book!
