I agree, that does sound silly. I don't remember seeing anything of the kind down here; mostly it's a matter of pharmacies advertising in a low-key way that they offer flu shots and the CDC placing info in newspapers to remind people of the at-risk groups for whom the shots are most recommended (old, children, compromised immune systems, lung problems [which means me], working in close contact with lots of people, living in a dorm). Not so much "YOU MUST GET A FLU SHOT!" hysteria.
The hype over bird flu, however....
