These comments are certainly out of line, and a bit unkind.

Set (her snerky comments) to "ignored"

She fussed at you for eating an APPLE, so I think you can safely assume she does not have as good a grasp of nutrition as you do.

I think you should tell her only your mother gets to make comments about what you eat. You don't have to tell her thats cause you can't shut your mother up. :)

Your boss has obviously never heard that it's better for people to eat 5 or 6 small meals during the day rather than 3 big ones because it helps keep blood sugar levels in line. Jesus H. Christ, some people should never be allowed to open their mouths. -_-;;

Dieting offices are a bitch. They make you feel like every morsel you put in your mouth is going to make you gain a million pounds. And while many of the office dieters have good intentions, sometimes they step over the line without realizing they are. It doesn't sound like she's being malicious, at least, but all the same it isn't her place to tell you what you should be eating (an apple? Really?)

My suggestion is the next time she makes a comment like that, not matter how well-intentioned, maybe tell her that while you understand she means well, it hurts your feelings/bothers you/upsets you when she makes comments like that. And if she pushes about it, just have a polite and frank conversation about the positive ways you manage your health, ya' know? That's assuming she's a good, open-minded boss :)
