Dear Cat: I am tired of your issues. Start finding the litter box or grow a voicebox so you can tell me what your freaking problem is.

So today's reading for Brit Lit was Elliot's The Waste Land. I feel so very not-well-read. But on the third time through it started making more sense. I understand that he thought that poetry should be difficult. But I don't quite agree. If you write something so referential and deliberately difficult, you limit your audience. I have come to realize that I am among the comma-happy when I write.

The first reading for Brit Lit is "Lanval", by Marie de France. This King Arthur is not very impressive.

Shelves are up, although we can't manage to fit as many as we did in the other places we've lived. Thought about putting some in the hallway but it is just too narrow ( Read more... )

Our stuff arrived from Japan. Since everything won't fit the books went to a storage unit to await further sorting. I lost count of the trips to the storage unit and deliberately didn't count the boxes. But at least we have our stuff.
