I picked up a book today and turned directly to a page with one of my favorite Buddhist quotes.

isn't one what? a self? i beg to differ, but i don't know how. ;)

Yes Wei Wu Wei is pointing to the nonexistence of the self. These statements exist to provoke thought. The tangibility of them it up to interpretation.
