The Book Meme that is freakin everywhere

I am wildly embarrassed about the number of books on this list I have not read yet.  My knowledge of 'The Classics' is woeful.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force ( Read more... )

Well, I don't have an LJ account.... I suppose you could italicize those you HATE! Thanks for the warning - I'll stay away from #9.

A Handmaids Tale was very good, but a bit disturbing. I think you'd probably like it.

Life of Pi - also very good but disturbing. Not sure I recommend it.

I loved the Douglas Adams Hitchhikers books... read them all in the late 70s early 80s and some of his prose have made their way into my everyday speech.... fun, british silly scifi.

Ah, Rebecca... I think it launched me into my summmertime love of mystery romance novels in my teens. It's been so long that I can't even remember it!

Also, I can't believe that The Giver is not on this list. Everyone should read The Giver.

I loved The Giver, and read it just recently. Also, Middlesex used to be on these silly lists, which I read because I think I had seen it on one of these silly lists (and always thought it looked interesting), and now is not on the silly list! Go figure.

I started reading Life of Pi and just couldn't get into it. I didn't give it much of a chance, though. I have always meant to try the 'Hitchhikers' books. I can't believe I hadn't read so many of these books!
