where i had never condoned what they had done, I was always skeptical about their actual effect. The statement made in that article,

"We got hundreds of calls from people reporting this to us and asking what they could do. We even heard from wavering American Democrats abroad who told us this helped them make a decision to vote for Bush."

is ludicrous, as are the other quotes, and I am less willing to trust a spokesman for the Ohio Repub. Party than I am a talking starfish. The Guardian's effect on this election, and with Clark County in particular, was minimal. Both the Bush and Kerry 'campaigns' did a lot more for Bush's re-election than did The Guardian.
