50 Things I Liked About Deathly Hallows

I figured I'd better start with this one (finally! *curses work for stealing all my time*) before I head off into the lengthy, ranty territories. It's still going to be TL;DR with all the quotes n' stuff, but it'll still probably be rather short... :(

I'm going to do this by chapter, just for easy look-up of quotes n' references n' stuff (that, and ( Read more... )

I loled and bitched through that whole book...as you know. There is some pure comedic GOLD in there.

Also, apologies to my flist in advance, but HOT DAMN was it fun to see the Sirius/Remus 'ship get smashed! XD

Unfortunately, some of us believe in the fluidity of sexuality rather than the categorization. SO WE GET YAOI AND/OR HET WHENEVER, WHEREEVER! >DDD

See, you liked the book, after all....I'm glad I finally finished it before reading the, uh, beginning of your shred. LOL. Okay, so what's next?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *gasps* *wheezes* *clutches ribs, stabbing pain*

No! I HATED this book with the burning fire of a thousand suns! Geeez, this was only the LITTLE shiny post - with 52 pages of notes, better n' 3/4ers were bad things, flints, and plot holes, silly! I'm doing the last rounds of LJ tonight before I get started on the REAL shred to be finished tomorrow (and probably an open snarky letter for JKR, too!) - ooooh, it's gonna be FUN! *evil grin with accompaning manic glint in eyes*. Heh - get ready for the HP venom, 'cause it's time to kick this obsession to the curb! Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned severely disillusioned, crapped-on fan! :D ( ... )

Well, one of my rules is to not finish books I hate, so, seeing as how I finished DH, I didn't hate it. Not being on top of all the details from the previous books, I cannot speak to the consistency of all the characters and situations. It is a YA series so....I'm not surprised at how certain things were handled or turned out. I found the middle of the book, where Harry, Hermione (and Ron) are camping out to be thoroughly boring and almost unnecessary, though we do need the passage of time to let some things happen in the interim, like the DE's consolidating their hold on the wizarding institutions. But, once the kids got out of the woods and started doing something it got my attention and I quickly finished the book. At some point I'll go back and reread the whole series so I'll pick up on more stuff ( ... )

What about Molly Weasley taking on and killing Bellatrix? Surely that is awesomeness to rate with Neville's?

FTW had me a bit confused - I know it's "For the Win", but the usage I'm more familiar with is "F*ck the World".

Hi! *waves*

Hmm....*sighs*..I did think about that particular spot, but nixed it for two reasons.
1.) word-for-word from Aliens. 'Nuff said.
2.) It really bugged me that we've only seen Molly ever cooking, really, and then we suddenly have this total Bellatrix pwnage. I would have found it more believeable if perhaps we'd found out that Molly made the clock at the Burrow, or had some other cool hobby on the side.

But either way, Molly is still made of Win because she's a Weasley, silly! *teases* ;D

LOL on that - I actually had to look up FTW and FTL on the Urban Dictionary a little over a month ago since they kept popping up so frequently. I, too, thought it was f*ck the world, but I kept seeing it in such odd contexts I figured I'd better find out. FTL is For The Lose, BTW - it always makes me laugh now when I think of the FTL drive in Anne McCaffrey's books now! ;D

Also, cute fuzzies in your icon! :D
