“I hate you.” Beth’s voice echoed inside her own head. It was her voice, but at the same time it was not. It sounded too low, too calm, and nowhere near angry enough. She replayed the words she said-bellowed-at her mother two minutes ago. “I hate you!” No, it still didn’t sound right. “I HATE YOU!” Perfect. Poisonous and downright angry.
