i went out on telegraph again to sell my photos, this time on my own rather than with the street kids. i made four dollars selling...and then some fellow approached me and offered me TWENTY dollars just to take MY picture. crazy. i guess i look cute in my bear ears.

the last two days have been great. angela came up on monday afternoon and we ran all around berkeley, from telegraph to the tibetan temple where i almost lived. we smoked on the roof and ate snacks from trader joes. it was awesome having her stay here...i only wish she could have stayed longer. she's off to oregon now but she'll come to san ( Read more... )

tonight i found an old photography book on the curb. i brought it home and ripped out the pages, taping them precisely disheveled on my wall. now above my desk i have a vertical collage of 1960s cafe scenes, children upside-down on swings, dutch women by a river, old men at soda fountains...living scrapbooks of an extraordinary spy. i love pictures ( Read more... )

holy wow i just emailed Chronicle Books 5 minutes ago about their Editorial Internship, and they've already called me back to set up an interview for this afternoon! i'm awesome!

i moved into my room yesterday, and though the ceilings are high (i have a loft bed!) and the lighting is great (with a dimmer!), it's a little depressing. apparently, a large number of my housemates have lived in this room before, and all have agreed that though there is nothing inherently wrong with it, something jsut feels a little off. lou ( Read more... )

I've decided to completely uproot myself.

As of tomorrow, I will be living in Berkeley. I decided this today. When I get there, I have 2 options:

a) I would live and work at a Buddhist temple. I would be either volunteering for Dharma Publishing or for the Tibetan Aid Project. This is an intensive work/study program, which includes meditation ( Read more... )
