God, the Orioles are awful. Almost amusingly awful (yay for alliteration), like the Pirates used to be (quite possibly still are). Can't even count on that, though. This team is trying hard, it just sucks . . . it's truly pitiful to watch. It's a lot like a cute puppy, trying in earnest to jump over the baby gate that keeps it out of the living ( Read more... )

I actually gave this a great deal of thought today.

First I thought of the Washington Nationals. They're a team on the rise (it could hardly be otherwise), though I think they're a bit over their head this year, and it isn't as if they're setting the league on fire. However, I rejected them, as Strasburg is coming, and with your luck with young pitchers, his arm will come off on his first major league pitch.

Then I thought of the Phillies. But Philly is so . . . *Philly*. Plus you'd be joining the Philly fans, and they're awful. Plus you'd be jumping on a bandwagon, and you're not very good at jumping.

And then it came to me.

Your new team.

Wait for it . . .

The Las Vegas 51's.

You have, as usual, failed to follow simple instructions. If you insist on getting married, you must get better at this, or parts of you will be cut off that you'd rather not have cut off.

The 51s are not a major league team. You have, however, inspired a thought - what about the Blue Jays, the 51s' parent club?

Well, it's not as if the Orioles are a major league team.

The Blue Jays aren't a bad choice, although they are rebuilding (yes, they have a good record right now, but Jose Bautista is about a light-year over his head), and you may not want to go through that again.

You could join everyone here on the Padres bandwagon until it careens off the road. However, be aware that when they try to score runs, it looks like you trying to play Jenga.
