I imagine we have to be smart enough to recognize signs of a post-larval, space-faring civilization, and I really don't think we are. Until we manage intelligence increase and life extension, I have to assume our species will wipe itself out.

I posted the essay to the C3 political list. Some folks tere saw it as pro-Obama propaganda.

I laughed.

Look at all the ways which both major parties have helped corporations to prosper while reducing the survival chances of the rest of us.

Obama may use words lie "Science" but the FDA is still licking the butts of their corporate masters. We have no living wage, no matter which paty is in per. And the "experts" working for Obama keep telling me it is safe to eat gulf seafood.

The feds say it's safe to eat a lot of things that I don't think are safe. When I think back on it, it sure seems like the last few years have been the worst in regards to food borne illness and contamination...and then there is the very real threat of Monsanto's GM foods.
