Probably (saying this as someone who has an old house that's always on the verge of total collapse) the plumber will just have to replace the faucet itself. Unless it is welded onto the pipe, that should be fairly simple to do...and even if it IS welded onto the pipe. That's why they make those doohickeys that cut pipe. Shouldn't be too expensive (fingers crossed).
