So who are you buying presents for?

Dec 15, 2009 17:14

During a brief conversation with my boss, she was still bemoaning that she had to buy "all these presents". Which was a surprise to me because surely there aren't that many people you buy presents for?

So... who are you buying presents for? (If you are buying presents of course!)

Poll Who are you giving presents to?

gift, christmas, present

Oh I know. Two of my sisters were also born in December, so it means that just sticking to the basics of parents, siblings, significant other and her family, I've had to buy presents for 11 occasions in the last month. Not counting for the people who've bought me surprise presents from last time.

Fortunately, I tend to buy most of mine gradually through the Autumn.

Unfortunately, it's mostly books and DVDs. and my sisters don't like those.

I do wish there was a Secret Santa though...

What a nice bunch your readers are. So far parents are in the lead.

I have no kids of neices/nephews, so that rules them out ^^. And the posties get a tenner in a card, so not really sure that counts :)

I LOVE BUYING PRESENTS.

I like buying presents - when I KNOW what to get people.

Most of the time, when I buy presents, I usually get that momentarily disappointed look. Never one of amazement...

Ah, this year people seem to have been very specific, so I've got them things I know that they want, plus some other silly bits.

The fact they've been so specific leads me to believe that I have spent my money buying them utter SHASH in previous years. Hrmmm.

Only two brothers and one nephew oh and brothers wife along with my parents to buy for. Grandmother refuses to give or accept presents on the basis she'll 'be dead soon'. She's been saying this for last ten years. Sigh.
Close friends have all agreed not to buy for each other, but best mates baby due Xmas day so will be baby related pressie to get too.
Bloody Secret Santa has given me the most headache though!

My parents are always saying They don't need anything - and yet, if you don't get them a present, they get grumpy. The fact that they have no hobbies and are ergo impossible to buy for is neither here nor there.

and I like Secret Santa!

I started making candies at home a few years ago, which I put in little boxes and give to people other than my immediate family. Aside from the afternoon spent making them, it saves a lot of time and money, but also allows me to give stuff to people I at work, not so close friends, etc. I make extras in case we receive a surprise gift and need to give something in return.
