Well, I'm almostmarriedme. As the name would suggest, I am coming up to getting married (this September to be precise). However, I have just been fired from my job (with no warnings, and not for any kind of gross misconduct - but I'm not going to let my blood boil over that any longer....). thank you for replying! We are starting to sell things on ebay, including our Manic Street Preacher tickets :( I was looking forward to that gig too!! So fingers crossed we will make a good bit there, we have a lot of tat! We are also doing a car boot sale soon with assorted stuff from the in laws. I could ask 1000 people for a £1, see how generous people are!!

thank you again for your suggestions, every idea i useful :)

How to raise wedding cash quickly anonymous May 16 2007, 09:32:15 UTC
Get another job! Unemployment is so low in this country you'll be sure to pick up something from an agency. Office work, shop work, bar tending, cleaning - if you're prepared to work, you'll be able to find SOMETHING even if it's not what you want to do. Do it for the short term. Or have a car boot sale, do some ebaying, or reduce the wedding overheads by, say, instead of having catering and a present list, get all those attending to bring a dish of food instead. It introduces a real personal touch and you've cut your bill by a couple of grand instantly.

I tried to get a job in town (I won't say where, you never can trust if some spod will report you for libel!) and the woman took one look at me, asked me if I was a graduate. When I said yes, she told me flat not to bother because I was too over qualified. Delightful!

Ebay has proven fruitful so far - we have sold our Manics tickets (boo!) and a few other things, so have over £100 in Paypal now. We're doing boot sales soon to get rid of clutter and earn some cash!

As for wedding costs everything is already rock bottom, so no dice that way...
