Nah, it just means time can't be prescribed to heal everything; I was going to say that, before you added it in, this reminds me of Time Traveler's Wife! which is always an interesting concept, plot and twist framed within a, Heechul is 18, 42, 26 kind of thing. Like OW, going back to hear Hankyung's bad Korean. That brings up stuff for us too. I guess in my head I'm comparing it to when we write fanfic (in a realistic setting), how the ending is already decided for us -- which is exactly what Heechul's living. You can angle events a certain way, draw out a moment, absorb it slowly, or watch it pass by too quickly for you to think, but that's all you have control over, because what happens turns into facts with each second ticking into existence -- time holds records -- and it's impossible to reverse any of it. I love what Ryeowook said, about how even Heechul's time traveling/attempts to tweak the future are already part of the whole, like, butterfly effect/initial conditions. Reminds me of Einstein's Dreams by Alan Lightman (which I ( ... )

YES! i forgot to add it in then i was like: laksndflksn copyright lawyers are going to be after my ass BETTER BUT THE DISCLAIMER IN...
i love the concept of the book, especially, if you remember, when he talks about watching this little girl ice skating and slipping and hitting her head, and no matter how many times he travels back to that point in time, he can't stop it from happening, because the past is the past and can't be changed.

i think you phrased it here better than i ever could! but yeah, exactly, no matter how we much we wish it, and even if we could time travel, it wouldn't happen. also, re: heechul doing something even if he can't -- wondering if that's just human nature or how he is, his compassion in strange ways ( ... )

or under the kitchen table two years from now - this really makes you wonder what he will be doing there

I think my favorite part was Sungmin knowing all this time. I wonder how he knew. Does he also time-travel? It'd be awesome if you wrote him also as a time-traveler in another story :D

In the suitcase Han Geng takes with him, there's a small piece of paper, tucked into one of his shoes.

Good luck, it reads in pretty, slightly sloppy, hangul.I misread this twice, both times as HG leaving Heechul a message. But now it makes sense ( ... )

You deleted your other comment!

Of course you'd pick up on that.

MAYBE I'D DO THAT I have no idea how I'd write that though. I think he knew because he's more perceptive than most people believe -- being in the same band for ~5yrs makes it hard to not know things like this -- and just guessed it, not that he's a time traveler. Though I could try that POV!

Sorry it wasn't clear :(

I actually didn't realise I was detached so often in my stories, but I'll take note of that now :) Definitely, though, with the detachment as a rl defence mechanism.

:((((((((( Hyukchul ♥ :(((((((((

Thank you!!
No he isn't :) Is this the ending? Because Heechul (as in, present-day Heechul) time travels to the future when Han Geng's retired and they're friends again :) I hope that clears it up!

I've been meaning to get into The Time Traveler's Wife, but this is much better :) But gah! I was crying quite a bit throughout the whole thing because it was so effin beautiful. I normally dislike fics dealing with Han Geng leaving since they're mostly the same, but this! This is just absolutely gorgeous and perfect >.< Heechul's characterization is amazing- his being hurt, his stubbornness, his ways of dealing, all of it. The interactions with Sungmin and Ryeowook were especially great as well since Sungmin is one of the few people who isn't afraid of Heechul and is willing to stand up to him, and Heechul adores Ryeowook and Ryeowook really cares for Heechul. I personally think that the past can be changed if time travel was possible, but the Time Paradox makes total sense in this. And that wonderfully hopeful ending... *cries even more* Loved it, loved it, loved it! ^.^ <3 <3 <3
