Almost Human Favourite Episode Poll

Mar 18, 2014 18:36

So back in December I did a poll to find out what everyone's fav eps so far were, the winner at that time was Arrhythmia and you can see the results from that poll here.

Now that we have had all 13 episodes of the first season I thought I might re-run the poll and ask you all what was your favourite of the 13 Almost Human episode.

And after posting the poll I really can't decide which episode to vote for, I keep changing my mind *ponders some more*

Last poll I picked "Are You Receiving?" and that is still my favourite, but this time I opted for "You Are Here" simply because the concept is utterly terrifying and I loved the way that shiver of fear amped up the action of the ep. It was a great way to give face time to the tech and move it into the limelight for a moment instead of the little reminder surprises.

Side note: I didn't realise "Straw Man" was the season finale and I think, had I known, I still would've been disappointed. It gave no sense of a - for want of a better word - cliffhanger. I truly expected another ep.

A lot of shows in their first season don't end with a cliffhanger because the future of the show is still unknown.

For me, I'm glad that it wasn't a cliffhanger because things aren't looking so good for the show's future. There's already so many unanswered questions, that I think if the show was cancelled with some big cliffhanger it would drive me even more crazy wanting to know how it ends.

*fingers and toes and - everything - crossed*

Good point, I guess I was under the impression, that cliffhangers were used to allow for contracts that aren't renewed for the next season and give opportunities to feasibly kill off those characters.

It really is a great concept in You Are Here isn't it.

*nods in agreement*

I have to say "The Bends". I loved seeing Rudy get out of the lab for a bit, and I loved seeing Richard get some screen time where he was being both useful and, though still abrasive, not entirely a dick. Also, seeing Dorian throw down with that other android in that brutal fist-fight was awesome. And seeing John bullied into taking Dorian and Rudy out for drinks was just wonderful. :D ( ... )

Oh yes I love seeing Rudy out of the lab and if the show is renewed, *crosses everything*, I hope he will get more screen time.

Plus as you say that fist fight between Dorian and the otherorbot is really good, it reminds us of how much more they can do.

I have trouble picking a favourite because there are so many eps that I really enjoy. This has the potential to be a great show and has a lot of loose ends, like Dorian's dreams, Vaughan going over the wall, and morally ambiguous issues like chromes competing in Olympics when they've been genetically enhanced to be superior, or John killing the Bishop in cold blood. I thought Dorian looked shocked when the van flipped, killing everyone -- don't think he expected it to explode and was just trying to stop them. And the whole thing about having sentient, emotive, self aware beings as virtual slaves needs to be addressed. Dorian was positively giddy with happiness and knowing he could continue to exist and serve ... I suspect he's afraid a lot of the time that he can simply be turned off like Vanessa, or like he was before.

I really, really hope this show is given a chance to fulfill it's potential.

I had trouble choosing too and I suspect if you asked me now I'd pik something different to the one I did. And as you say so many loose ends and so much potential, i really hope it gets renewed.
