I so agree on that scene at the end with John and Maldonado - I hope we get flashbacks about them at some point.

And LOL, yeah, at "Humans off!"

I thought this was a great ep. A little on the side of "Internet makes people attention-craving amoral dicks," which is almost how like other, more cliched procedurals portray the big scary Internet, whereas usually I think the show does a more original job looking at how future tech will change society/interact with human psychology. But I can't really complain too much, since the episode was so well-paced and all around awesome ( ... )

I know what you mean! Like John pushing one in the pilot seemed harsh for a show about the humanity of machines, but then at least it showed us how far Kennex goes from thinking of them as just objects. The only way I won't be upset about the shooting is if shooting an mx is basically like punching a human with no real damage done in most cases -- not that I advocate punching to solve problems lol, but I think there are plenty of 'cop buddy' shows where insulting someone's partner might end up with a punch thrown.

I bet if someone kills Dorian it would be considered like 'destroying police property' or something :( but Kennex would go pretty vigilante I'm sure

As much as I loved this ep... I though it was going to be about Kennex having to stab a needle in a kinda homicidal android and meeting Dorian's creation... does this mean that they ARE airing the episode sin disorder?

Anyway, loved the ep. I was kind of disappointed though, I though that Dorian had punched Paul for that comment about John slipping back into a coma, but it was about the charging thingy XD Oh well.

I feel so sorry for his MX though, happy he's not a DRN cause he'd just feel so used!

I agree with truantneurite, can't wait to see what the history is between Kennex and Maldonado XP

I've not seen the episode yet since I'm not from the uS whatsoever, but no, the episodes air completely out of order... I don't even think they aired the supposed episode 3 yet... it was like episode 1, then 5, then 8 or something like that, it was definitely NOT the right order. I will never get why tv-shows do something like that, though. it's confusing.

(They did that with the Transporter Series I watched as well and only on the DVD did I see it in the right order finally...)

I found the plot on this a bit over the top (plus I have a squick about the explosive collar thing, eeee) but as usual the character interactions were all great, and while a solar flare is enough to discharge future!earth's batteries, our stores of angsty Karl screen caps are full to bursting.

Am I a bad person that the scene with John in the collar reminded me--favorably--of this?

Ticking timebomb plots aren't my favourite thing, but I liked a lot of the character stuff in this episode. Getting a glimpse at what Dorian looks like when his emotion chip is affected was interesting: I wasn't expecting him to be so erratic and twitchy (I liked the way Michael Ealy played it, like he'd just sat through six final exams in a row and was running on nothing but nerves and caffeine).

But the biggest thing about the episode for me was Rudy. Poor Rudy! *cuddles him* I've been feeling sadder and sadder for him as we go along, and this episode was just heartbreaking. I hope they do something to lessen his isolation soon.
