Flurried catchup post

So a lot of stuff has been happening, all at once. The good news is, after I get through the first half of this upcoming week, my schedule is MUCH CLEARER (until it suddenly becomes consumed entirely with Baby Things, of course).

Some topics I should at least name-check here, in case I don't get back to them later:

good things, listmaking

Eureka really is awesome. No new episodes until like January, though, and even then they haven't published a date. The newer episodes are available on hulu.com, if you're interested.

The Tribune gave Bolt a very mediocre review, and I was a bit disappointed because I thought it looked pretty promising. But, I trust your taste/judgment more than the Trib reviewer, so I'll probably give it a try.

I was surprised AND pleased to discover that, instead of the 'kind of cute, some nice lines' Disney fare I was expecting -- about like Wall-E, or perhaps a little worse -- I got the kind of kid's movie parents will drag their kids to so they can see it again themselves.

Kind of like the difference between Teletubbies and Sesame Street. Mind, if I'd gone in hoping for Teletubbies I might well have been disappointed, so maybe that's the difference between me and their reviewer. :-> Also, I've been reading matociquala's metacommentaries on episodes of Criminal Minds for over a year now, which has changed how I absorb story entirely. And raised my standards.

Judy handed me the book of Sookie Stackhouse novels. I'm looking forward to reading them. Many thanks!

It's only the first three, but I figure if you're hooked by then you can find the rest on your own without much trouble. :->

I *heart* compendium volumes -- less actual physical books to lose or separate, and they always remind me what order to read them in!
