Thank you! He will have an interesting time in school. Last year he went to a German Kindergarten (much more like preschool than anything else) and he did not learn much German but his English slipped. We are working hard right now to correct the grammatical errors he picked up from his teachers and classmates. He is right on target, but it has been interesting watching the language click back into place.

Awwww. Damn I just want to hug all of you. I can always tell from talking to him that he will be a remarkable little person (and one day a remarkable big person).

I am going to send you a book called Lionboy (unless you've read it) that I think the two (three, I suppose) of you would like. The hero of the story reminded me so much of your boy that it wasn't even funny. I pictured him as the story's resourceful little man the whole time (and, consequently, you and Zanla got to be the genius parents of said adorable hero).

Yay, a book! (Notice that I zero in on the book, and completely miss the whole say nice things about the kid bit!) I have not read it, though it did sit on my shelf for a short period of time. I would happily give it a try.

Last night he opened his fortune cookie and demanded to read it all by himself. We said ok. He asked which side of the paper was in English and then spent some time looking at it carefully. "Your heart is here." he proclaimed, and then he put the paper down. Remarkable is exactly the right word.

Ok, back to books. I have Inkspell for you if you don't have a copy. Shall I send it your way?

I would love Inkspell. I really enjoyed the first one, and so did the drummer boy. :)

Great story about the fortune cookie. I think that is the cool thing about something like LJ. Even if you're not a "writer" you'll have something to go back and show him one day that catalogues all the amazing stuff he did.
