i guess because the setting is in england, so it explains alex's presence and jack's for moving over of course. and then yeah, rian as a past boyfriend from america, and zack just wasn't needed i suppose. i mean yeah of course i could have said that zack was jack's best friend, but he left everybody for rian, so it just wouldn't make sense lol
but let's just assume for the sake of this that in some parallel universe, zack and rian are together in baltimore <3
