The bell claiming recess was over rang and Jack and Alex looked each other. Jack sighed and got up from the floor, pulling his bag over his shoulder. He held out his hand to Alex and Alex took it now pulling himself up.

"So what are you doing after school?" Alex asked casually. Jack shrugged.

"Nothing why?" Jack asked excitedly. Alex looked down and run a hand through his hair. Suddenly they heard a bang on the door. They panicked and shoved themselves into the cubicle. Alex now pressed up against Jack and he could feel Jack breathe heavily on his head. He bit his lip and he rested his head on Jack's chest.

They heard slow footsteps dawn in closer to their cubicle and tried to keep as quiet as possible. Jack even decided to hold his breath for a couple of seconds. The footsteps now sounded more distant but then came to a sudden stop.

"Whoever's in here get out right now" A stern voice now filled the bathroom. Alex looked up at Jack and gulped. Jack nodded and shoved past him now opening the door. He hung his head and Alex slowly followed.

"What were you two doing in there?" Mr Wheeler asked strictly. Jack still looked down at his battered converse and Alex did the same. Their long hair falling over their face to hide their amused eyes. Alex giggled quietly now.

"Any explaination?" He asked again firmly. They both shook their heads and Mr Wheeler nodded.

"I see well you two will be spending after school in detention then writing up an explaination" Mr Wheeler told them. Their heads both shot up in disbelief.

"Come on sir" Jack whined. Mr Wheeler shook his head.

"Seeing as you didn't want to speak I'm sure you'd prefer to write" He teased. Alex rolled his eyes and Mr Wheeler snapped his fingers at him,

"Don't roll your eyes at me young man" He snapped. Alex nodded lightly. He turned around heading for the door.

"Now you two get to class and I'll see you in the detention room right after your last class, yes?" He questioned. Alex and Jack both nodded and watched him leave. Once the door shut the both burst out into laughter. Hunching over laughing. Alex fell on the floor and leant against the door, laughing hysterically while Jack held himself up on the sink.

"Oh my god, did you see how strict he was trying to be?" Jack managed to scoff out. Alex nodded now breathing out slowly trying to calm himself down. A smile was still present on his face though. Jack now held himself up against the sink and looked down at the smiling Alex sitting contently on the floor.

"Come on we need to get to class" Jack announced now reaching out his hand to him. Alex took it and pulled himself up now standing fairly close to Jack. He looked up to see Jack staring straight at him with warm brown eyes. Alex's lips curved up into a smile as he now started walking towards the door. Jack stood there smiling at him walk out.

What have they become? What are they doing? He shook his head and grinned now following Alex.

The next couple of hours in school were a drag. Jack hated being on his own but right now he's not sure if he preferred having Dan around. He had a lot of thinking to do on that situation.

What Alex said made a lot of sense but for some reason he felt like Dan might just wanna hang around with him. There's just a bond he feels between but then again maybe Dan's just a great actor. They'd have to talk about this but not just yet.

Once school ended Jack for a second felt the relief of going home but then remembered he had detention. He groaned and rested his forehead against his locker but then he remembered Alex was going to be there. He stuffed all his books inside quickly and shut it forcefully and darted down the hallway. Once he got to the room he composed himself and slowly opened the door. The only person in there was Alex and he was just swinging his legs of the side of the table. He looked up, his long hair revealing his bright caramel eyes now scrunching at the sides as he grinned.

"Hey" He said quietly. Jack smiled and shut the door behind him and walked towards the desk opposite Alex's.

"Where's the Mr Wheeler?" Jack asked curiously. Alex shrugged.

"Don't know, I've been here for like 10 minutes and no one's come yet" Alex answered casually. Jack nodded and put his bag on the floor and took a seat on the table. He looked at Alex.

"How long do you think they're gonna keep us in here for?" Alex asked. Jack shrugged.

"Half an hour maybe? I'm usually in here for about that time when I'm caught sneaking around somewhere but I'm in here for an hour when they catch me you know erm, slamming on you or someone" Jack ended nervously, now scratching the back of his neck. Alex smiled and looked down at his swinging feet.

"You shouldn't be smiling at what I last said" Jack mumbled nervously. Alex shrugged and got off the table and now stood infront of Jack.

"I did though and you wanna know why? Because I trust you that, that's in the past and won't happen again. Also I guess it's like the end to a nightmare and a start to a...well not a dream because that just sounds weird" Alex now chuckled nerovusly and blushed, Jack could tell he was embarrassed. Jack laughed and caught Alex's swinging hands now looking down at the perfectly linked hands. Now ruining their moment was a rushing Mr Wheeler.

"Sorry boys, I had something to deal with" He informed them. They both groaned quietly and slumped in their seats. Mr Wheeler rolled his eyes and sat in his, now staring at the two boys.

"Weren't you gonna make us write something sir?" Alex asked quietly. Jack glared at him but Alex just kept looking forward.

"Oh yes! Let me just get paper" Mr Wheeler said now leaving the classroom.

"Dude! Why did you do that?" Jack asked is disbelief. Alex smirked.

"Don't worry he won't be back for a while" Alex said sneakily. Jack raised an eyebrow.

"His office is just down the hall, I'm sure he'll be back right now" Jack told Alex. Alex shook his head with a smirk on his face.

"Who says there's paper in his office?" Alex asked teasingly, raising an eyebrow. Jack tilted his head in confusion.

"There must be...what did you do Gaskarth?" Jack questioned. Alex chuckled and shrugged.

"Nothing" He lied. Jack raised his eyebrows.

"Impressive. I never thought you'd have the guts to do that kind of stuff" Jack admitted. Alex opened his mouth in shock.

"Hey! When you've got a brother like Dan you learn a couple of stuff" Alex admitted. Jack chuckled and nodded.

Alex now shuffled in his seat trying to bring his legs up to his chest and his wallet fell out of his pocket. He hadn't noticed and Jack bent over to pick it up. It was until Jack actually opened the wallet that Alex noticed it wasn't in his pocket.

"Fuck, give me it!" Alex exclaimed now putting his feet down. Jack smiled and nodded. Alex got up from his seat and so did Jack. Alex tried to reach for it but Jack snatched it to his chest and now moved back. Alex kept trying to reach for but Jack kept dodging. Alex chuckled and looked at him. Jack now ran across the classroom and Alex ran after him. They were both laughing and Jack was somehow still looking through the wallet.

"Aw look at baby Alex with his mommy!" He teased. Alex chuckled.

"Fuck off! Give me the wallet!" He yelled. Jack laughed.

"Nope!" He yelled back. Jack kept running inbetween desks and Alex just followed as quick as he could. Jack was now running round the corner of the lined tables so Alex had an idea. He pushed a desk behind Jack now blocking the pathway and he ran around. Jack tried to turn around to run but Alex now had him pushed up against the wall. Jack had the wallet straight up in his face. He was staring at it with a smile.

"Is that you and Dan?" Jack asked quietly now turning the wallet round to show Alex. There was a small photo of Alex and Dan as kids. Alex's hair bright blonde and short, a grin from ear to ear. His legs and arms wrapped around Dan's bigger body. Dan was sporting a large smile and warm eyes. Alex smiled softly.

"Yeah" He whispered.

"How come you still have this?"Jack asked. Alex smiled.

"It's just...I like to remember the good times we had you know? That they weren't always bad" Alex told Jack quietly. Jack nodded with a sweet smile.

"You're such a great brother Alex" Jack told him. Alex looked up and blushed.

"I wish he could see that" Alex admitted. Jack wrapped his arms around Alex's waist.

"I just want to know what goes on in that boys mind that makes him hate you so bad" Jack whispered. Alex nodded in agreement and now wrapped his arms around Jack's neck. Burying his face into his neck as Jack hugged him tightly.

"Imagine if Dan saw us right now" Jack said. Alex laughed into the crook of Jack's neck.

"We wouldn't be alive I swear" Alex teased. They heard footsteps and let go of each other and now made their ways back to their seats. Mr Wheeler now came through the door, exasperated.

"I can't seem to find paper but I've got somewhere to be at so you can leave" He said firmly. They both nodded and got their stuff and made their way to the door.

"Wanna hang at my place? You can say you're there to visit Dan or something" Alex asked simply. Jack nodded.

"Sounds great" He replied.
