Er...I really really hate being critical of anyone's work, especially that of someone I don't know at all. I just wanted to point out that you referred to Jack as a "hermaphrodite," but that term is outdated and usually considered a bit offensive. Might I suggest the term intersex? That's a more correct and accepted term, and it might prevent anyone reading this from being offended or hurt.
Again, I'm really sorry to be critical. Other than that minor detail, this story is very interesting and I can't wait to see where the story goes from here!
