tumblr masterpost The sun shines through the window panes, the ones which Jack forgot to ever buy curtains for. It glows around the couple lying on the couch, limbs entangled, warming them up from the lack of blanket.
Jack awakes first, the sounds of soft snoring in his ear and a beam of sun heading straight for his vision. He groans and tries stretching as best as he can without waking Alex. Alex ends up waking up as soon as Jack moves his gangly arms.
"Morning," Alex's says, opening his eyes only to close and reopen them again, trying to adjust to the strong light.
"G'morning. Do Mom and Dad know you're here?"
Alex smirks up at him, "Told them I was at Rians. And I also told them that I won't be back home until tomorrow. I'm sleeping around Cass' tonight."
"Wait, are you actually staying with her?"
Alex nodded.
Jack sighed.
"M'sorry. I just haven't seen her in ages." Guilt crossed all over Alex's features and Jack immediately felt a stab at his heart.
"No no no, 'Lex I didn't mean it like that. You can go if you want, okay. Don't let me get in the way of your plans. I need to study anyway, I have an exam coming up."
He'd always felt bad for Alex. Well, not pity - he knew the last thing Alex ever wanted was pity.
But he was pretty much the one who the reason why this twisted thing between them ever started. And ever since they began, Alex has spent more time with hin than he has with his few friends.
Not that he regrets it though. He's been in love with Alex since the age of fourteen, as sick as it may sound.
They were connected.
Have you been friends with someone, and it's like your friendship is deeper than just friends? Nothing sexual, but you two are just...emotionally attached to each other?
That was Jack and Alex, before their indiscretions began.

It'd become somewhat of a tradition.
Alex would rent Romeo and Juliet, the Leo and Claire version.
They'd hold hands through the entire movie, all the way until the end.
