I've been enjoying this but if you're going to write historical fic, details have to be right: condom use for gay men didn't happen until after it was determined that HIV was a sexually transmitted disease in around 1984. Before then, we didn't bother - why would we? A dose of syphilis or gonorrhea was easily fixed by antibiotics and herpes, chlamydia and hepatitis B weren't really much of an issue. Hep B only became a concern with everyone's immune systems presumed to be compromised. And condoms were ONLY available from under the counter at the drugstore and you had to ask for them. And it was considered incredibly embarrassing. Straight couples didn't use them either once the pill hit the market and gave women control over their fertility ( ... )
