I think people congratulate you in taking the step of moving out since you're becoming wholy dependant upon yourself. Many people see it as the defining point between their childhood and adulthood, since for the first time - you don't really have your parents there to cater for you in the same capacity. It'll be difficult and if you get on fine, then surely it's an impressive achivement.
