Natalie wasn't sure whether informing Dylan of her date was a good thing or a bad thing. To begin with, her friend hadn't stopped smirking throughout their entire conversation, as though she were enjoying a very amusing inside joke. If that weren't nerve-wracking enough, when she was helping Nat get ready, Dylan kept giving random pointers, the highlight of which happened to be, "If all else fails, show him your tits." Natalie hoped things wouldn't get that bad, and agreed with Dylan when she retracted the statement, suggesting it might cause Rodney to pass out.

There was a happy medium, however, which Natalie had no problem with employing, and it came this evening in the form of a rather low-cut shirt found in the infamous clothes pile downstairs. She thought it made her boobs look good, and if there was one thing she did know about men, it was that boobs were good ( ... )

McKay spun around, stammering a sentence before he caught himself. No. He froze. Oh god, was his subconscious Cadman sounding!? Oh, what did he do to deserve this? McKay, you can do this!

He held out one hand awkwardly. "I picked flowers. For you. Because I thought you might like them seeing as you're a woman."

Natalie thought he seemed nervous, but it was difficult to tell, because she was slightly nervous herself, and Rodney was so often tense around her she had little basis for comparison. Regardless, she found him utterly adorable, and accepted the flowers with a wide smile.

"Thank you! That was really nice of you!" she enthused, and held the flowers up to her nose, because that seemed the thing to do.

McKay bit his lip. All right, already some mild success. He gestured to the chair. "I uh, just made some sandwiches, because I'm not a very good cook. I mean, I'm pretty bad at it. Not poisoning bad, but pretty bad."
